That's easy, they're recycled models.
It's like a Sonic fancharacter, just get a character, and add some stuff on it, none of the basic features are really changed. (eyes, face etc.) >_>
And to your first, if Evolution didn't exist in Zelda, then Koroks wouldn't exist.

Okay, uhm, I was trying to look for the problem, and I can't find it... XD Anyhow, they're on my dA too, and since you know my dA, check them there instead.
